In 2009, I wrote a letter to President Barack Obama. The letter was about how he inspired me and gave me more confidence to achieve my goals for the future. 

During the early years of his presidency, Obama would personally respond to a few letters from civilians every night and would come up with topic-related responses for any others.  I felt special and accomplished. I was never intimidated by the prospect of not getting a response from someone as important as the President of the United States. I reached out to my community leader with relevant thoughts and feelings. I take myself seriously and from a young age, I've found strength in expressing my ideas without holding back. I know that if I expect much, then I should attempt much.
